Traveling here is very easy. It is about 130 to 140 km from Kolkata. You have three main ways to get to the island.
Route 1: By Train (The Cheapest & Most Popular Way)
To save money, I always tell people to take the train. Catch the Namkhana Local train from Sealdah Station in Kolkata. The ticket is very cheap. It costs only ₹25. The ride takes about three hours. It helps you skip the bad weekend road traffic.
Get off at the last stop, Namkhana Station. When you walk outside, you will see many local Totos (e-rickshaws) and shared vans waiting. You can hire a Toto to take you straight to the island.
